back to life, back to reality...

For the first time, I combined my two different background of friends... The terlampau dancers (and choreographers) and the same old favourite people of mine... I shall not talk about the food as the recipes were retrived from the net... So there was nothing to shout about. Still I was busy since the first guest arrived. There were only two pix of mine, from my camera...just because I was in the kitchen the whole time.... Anyway, I do hope they've enjoyed themselves. Sorry folks, my mistake... Prep was done at the very last minute since I overlooked the possible hiccups that might happen during the prep. Thanks to Cikgu Ain for frying the garlic bread. ( I was expecting Pak Teh but Cikgu Ain turned up with the chocolate cake.... eh? ada ke?) and for sending Ismah home. Ajit and Zali for lighting up the candles, bringing the dessert, for the never-ending stupid jokes and the gaul thingy. Anita, Vivid for coming all the way from the lost highway and the yummy orange cake. Which by the way not many ate (thank god!!!! Its all mine now!!!!!) Cikgu Zaini for coming after the show... it was late but you made it... Fuad, for making your way over.... touched...

'Ismah for turning up with Adam and the fruits....
Faiz, Mumtaz, Batrisya, for the famous amos... and for wati...har har har...
Komar, the lotus seed and being a sport (staying back to help us clear the mess)
Shaniza, Arif for the donuts.... fattening but SEDAP GILER!!! (Arif, next time bring all your instruments..... Shaniza next time, let him drive his car..... Looks like my next gathering is gonna be soon sbb ada saxophonist nak perform... F.O.C. kannnnn???!!!!!)

my shattered dreams (part i)

"Mak, mak, do you think you can enroll me in the piano class?"
"No, we can't afford it"

"Mak, mak do you think you can send me for ballet lessons?"
"No, we can't afford it"

As a child, these two questions were often being asked by me to my mother. It had always been NO though everyone realised the talents I have. Since primary school, I was active performing at any concerts held by the school. When I went to secondary, I was also active. Only this time, acting was included. Acting comes naturally for me as the whole lot of my siblings are very animated. I was once offered by SBC to do a programme with them but since I was still in school, headmistress thought it would not be the best for me. My dream of becoming a performer shattered...

I love acting but it requires a lot of concentration and it can sometimes be tedious. So, I prefer dancing. I always end up with my jaw on my chest whenever I see dancers performing. Their talents of wearing heels to dance never fail to impress me more. Their grace movements always make it impossible to communicate with me. Their endless smiles are always contagious. The perfect body they have, makes me wanna lose my lunch after looking at mine.
In short I adore them as they are living my dreams.

five, six, seven, eight. one two three four five six seven eight. two two three four five six seven eight. three two three four five six seven eight. That is my favourite way of counting. Counting the steps in a dance movement. to be cont.....

twins that are full of crab(p)

what's with her? looking for me whenever she's in need.
well, I am a friend indeed,
but why the crabs?
I define logic as no one else can?

she thought I am a changed person who will do nothing bad,
just because I dispence advice in wisdom,
well, that's the problem,
unfortunately being astute to myself is what I am not good at.

I am just full of crap,
I am just like the goldfish that tend to forget,
I do a lot of listening, talking and gossiping,
I am still a child who will never stop playing..

Tak gitu? drama betul lah korang berdua,

specially dedicated to the King of all dramas, from the Queen herself......

at her best...

She woke up at 9 am to the sound of a ringing telephone. Her partner was on the other line. They spoke for an hour updating details of dramas that had transpired during the absence of each other.

Her cats were looking at her extensively with a hunger strike expression. They followed her down hyper sonically. They waited patiently when she opened the front door. Their eyes followed her every moves. She fed the fish. Dreamily looking at their gracious movements. Finally she said something and they rushed to the fridge indicating they wish to eat the can food today. She obliged. Fed them and made her a cup of coffee while reading all the mails received while she was away. Damn! the electricity bill arrived already?

The sound of mortar and pestle clanking in her neighbourhood indicated that noon was nearing. She smiled when the aroma of sweet delicious curry ascending her home. While the others were busy smelling like a fish in the kitchen, she was admiring her fish in the pond thinking she has nothing to think about. She laughed hysterically and found it ridiculously amusing. Scooping out tadpoles from her pond relaxed her mind. No work for two weeks excite her a little. Mending the plants in the pond was tranquilizing....

Ahhhhh she thought to herself, breathing deeply... What more do I want when this is the best life one could get.....

guessing game!!!!

During dinner last night with a bunch of friends that I have not been hanging out for a very long time, the topic about signs or better known as Zodiac was discussed. Some asked me, is Libra selfish? Gemini is moody right? Well, I can tell you that those assumptions are incorrect!!
So, let's see if you could match the zodiac with how Beyonce (yes..... That bootylicious Beyonce) interprets each sign..... ready?

1. AFFECTIONATE
2. BEHAVE LIKE LEO, ARIES OR GEMINI
3. BOSSY
4. INTELLIGENT
5. EXPRESS LESS ( unfortunately this was my interpretation, Beyonce skipped this particular sign-dunno why....)
6. FLIP SIDED
7. FLIRTATIOUS
8. FREAKY
9. FUN
10. SENSITIVE
11. SEXY
12. SWITCH MOVES AFTER HE'S/SHE'S BEEN WITH YOU

a. ARIES b. TAURUS c. GEMINI d. CANCER e. LEO f. VIRGO g. LIBRA
h. SCORPIO i. SAGITTARIUS j. CAPRICORN k. AQUARIUS l. PISCES

emmmmmmmm.... the least you could do is try to figure out which one is you......
all the best y'all!!!!!!!

answer in one week.... or longer.

The Dalmatian and his master

While enjoying my coffee and goreng pisang for tea, a Dalmatian and his master were taking a walk. They stopped right in front of my house. I said, HELLO! His master said Hi and began talking.

the unknown " are these your cats "
the known " why, yes they are " sensing something unpleasant gonna come from the unknown.

the unknown " your cats love to roam at night "
the known " I'm sure they do, it's them by nature though I only have a cat (out of 6) who roams and always come back at night. "
the unknown " there your black cat! "
the known " black? " (are you color blind??? i don't have any black cats!!!!!!)
the unknown " the black cat with a stripe! "
the known " yes, the striped cat... "

the unknown " she comes to the house and my dog will bark and it can be annoying "
the known " okey, i will tell her not to roam at night ok? " (and you must tell your dog not to bark at night as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) how silly!

the unknown felt uneasy and continued " I thought this is supposed to be a Chinese house? "
the known " and why is that? "
the unknown " because only Chinese have beautiful houses!!!! " (i felt like losing my goreng pisang!!!!) " normally, Malays don't have nice houses... "
the known (emm, not only he is silly, he is darn bloody racist too!!!!) " well then, I guess this is the first time you are looking at a nice Malay house, it's a new lesson for you isn't it? "
the unknown " ah ah yeah...... "

the known " may be you can come around sometimes and let your dog be friends with my cats "
the unknown " may be not right now, may be after my exams "
the known " exams? and how old are you? "
the unknown " fourteen "

emmmmm, that explains. I looked at him differently after the silly conversation I had with him. May be he is not exposed. He was just saying what he was thinking without even thinking. A typical unexposed child whose world revolves around home works and books. Oh darling little (not so) boy, one day I hope you grow up and learn to be tactful. And if you happen not to be intelligent, I hope you will learn how to have at least an intelligent conversation. As for me, I am the queen of all dramas..... The famous hypocrite..... The sarcastic cat owner..... I am good at being who I want to be at a certain particular moment...

and by the way, I was sincere when I told you to bring Pongo again. He look like a nice Dalmatian......

simplest pleasure in life

People say that some of us grow old and some of us grow up. In my case, I am both. Fortunately, my growing old is a forgiven behaviour and habits.

I recently realised that it was never about how much the gift cost. Yeah, yeah sure I often say its the thoughts that count. But do I really mean it? Do I? Emmmmmmm I wonder......

A friend bought me a key chain with my initial. A key chain that I often see, a key chain that I would never get for myself. But I treasure it. It put a smile on my face every time I look at it because it was bought with me in mind. He thought of me when he saw the key chain... He was not pressured into buying me a gift. It was at the spur of the moment, he saw, thought of me, bought it. I thought that was sweet. To begin with I was never close to this person but getting a simple gift from him, made me felt all of the sincerity he had.

Getting handmade accessories always, almost put me to tears. Spending hours to get the right custom made necklace for me, is something you will never ever forget. Never.

So, I received an ipod shuffle? Big Deal!!!! YES ITS A BIG DEAL!!!!! Ex partner in crime actually thought of me when she purchased one for herself.... It's truly not about how much the ipod cost but not seeing her as often as I wish, receiving anything from her is a big deal.... She thought of me... Yup, she did....

You see, it is really not about the price of the gift, getting thought about is the best gift ever. So be it rm14 or rm1400, it will always be about the thoughts and not the price tags... It's that simple. Or is it?

my current simplest pleasure in life, practising and act child like....

conversation of a Gemini

it was soooooo petty,
it was even stupid,
could it be jealousy?
may be...?

but how could i not be?
when it was then always about me, me, me?

oh.....grow up you pathetic looking creature!!
things change you hear?????!!!!

but it was me who
had intensively listened to his explanations,
and it was me who
had exhaustively watched him draw,
and it was me who
steadily smelt his pencil lead against the paper,
and it was me who
had searchingly tasted his dreams,
and it was me who
had been helping him to touch his goals...
it was me.... it had always been me...

hahahahahahahahahahaha,
and i thought you claim that you are smart!
haven't you notice you fool?
oh dear!!!! you are so naive as your art!!
you've used had and was,
isn't that things of the past?
huh! hahahaha... you are not that wise!!!!!

NO!!!!! how could this be?
when i'm an ally, friend and supporter,
i'm not a foe nor a traitor,
i never was an intruder, outsider or a stranger!!

oh you schmuck moron!
priorities have changed,
haven't you notice?
whatever he does, it is his prerogative!

hukk hukk hukk,
(oh stop wailing!!!!!!!!!!)
no, no wait....
i know you've got a point,
it just so difficult to grasp...
it's difficult to digest and comprehend....
it's not easy to understand..

oh tsk tsk tsk you pitiful character....
i'll weep with you if you want me to,
take your time to grieve,
pretty soon you will again live...
may be i was being too mean,
know what? may be there is a simple explanation,
give him that space he so ever need,
may be you can make this an exemption.

yeah, may be i could,
it's the first time he committed a crime,
apologise i would,
hopefully we'll be ever so fine...

kuang kuang kuang rsvp pt ii

Being away from home with a team of colleagues whose mind matches yours is like being away on a holiday. A day is felt like a second... The thing I really hate about being away from home for a long time is that when you are finally home, the reality arrived. Errrrghhhhhhhh!!!!!
Today, I came home facing a dried up pond, hungry cats, hungry fishes, tons of bills in the letter box and my car is 1075 metres away from home...

When the necessary phone calls were made, you get news of your own stupidity which you are strongly against. Two of the days while I was away, I received two invitations to two parties. RSVP was included in one of them. Being extremely excited about my upcoming July schedule which requires me not having to work for 16 days straight(yahoo hoo), made me think of nothing else but those dates. I RSVPed only to find out that the month of the invites are in JUNE and not JULY. I, Aiz, the one who wrote about how important it is to RSVP, RSVPed and did not turn up to one invitation for failing to read the invite properly. Arrrrghhhhhhh!!!! How STUPID one can be....... ( am so so so sorry FAIZ)

So People, (aiz and all blog readers) " you only RSVP after understanding the invites"
Oh well, I am merely human. I shall get some rest now and wake up in a few hours to get ready for the second party which I initially thought will be held in July. Thank god I am back in time for otherwise my blog about RSVP will be void!!!!!

R.S.V.P.

About five years ago, a friend who got married was furious when some of whom he invited did not turn up on his wedding day. He made a big fuss out of it and stressed on the R.S.V.P. which was neatly printed on his wedding card. That was when I discovered that to respond to an RSVP is very important. It actually make sense because hosts would not put RSVP if they don't want us to respond to an RSVP.

Just what does RSVP means? It is a short form for Répondez s'il-vous-plaît or Réservez s'il-vous-plaît, a French phrase that translates to "Please respond"

This RSVP thingy had been on my head for three weeks now for I just could not understand why people are so bad at responding. Merely any excuses are not excepted BECAUSE thanks to technology, we have ways to communicate.

It bothered me so much, that I looked it up and found that RSVP is also Response Shall Verify Presence in English. Ahhhhh......that explains better than French. Which means, if they don't respond, they are not coming right?
WRONG!!!!!!!
There are people who don't respond and turn up. Or when they do respond, they respond at the very last minute when all the preparations are done. To make matters worst, they'll bring someone along. la la la la la .....

Some don't respond and decided to come with a phone call on D Day, only to find that the host can't accommodate their request and it ended up with a misunderstanding.

You see, a supposedly well organized party can be messy if we still don't understand and comply to any invitations. So, when it says RSVP, we respond please and when it says dress naked, we come naked please, please, please......

Bali - RSVP required...

lima puluh satu - RSVP not required
errr.... sommmmetimes...

like cats, love cats?

Sometimes I get annoyed when people keep on asking if I have kittens to give away.
The funny thing is there are hundreds of stray kittens that can be adopted but most of us fail to see that a restaurant can also be an adoption centre if we keep our mind open. Bring them home, send for check up, potty train them and in no time we have a cat to call our own.

One cat lover I know will put aside 10% of her pay that goes into her "kitty bank".
Another cat lover recently introduced me to May. May-May as she is affectionately known was a sick kitten who followed her across the street and jump into her car from the restaurant she called home. May-May's ear was torn and she had a wide opening on her back and blood was still oozing. After a visit to the vet, she recovered quickly. Now May-May is an active kitten who often bullies her best friend, August, an adopted puppy who was left by the road in a box.

Need a cat? Scout for one at your nearest food center.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all

I've just celebrated my 35Th birthday. It was quiet. Jet lagged, tired I slept throughout the day that was supposed to be solely mine. It, however began with a surprise birthday gift from a customer who thought I was still a very young lady. That complement was the best birthday gift ever. The Midnight Fantasy perfume that came much later after the complement was a bonus. The double bonus was that the perfume is by Britney Spears (she's weird but i like her anyway).

My text messages were filled with birthday wishes. Ex house-mate, one female best friend, one best friend's sister who happens to share the same birth date wit me, two unknown numbers, a few from ex schoolmates, one recorded birthday song by a sister, one by my youngest brother and that was all.

Though the birthday wishes were enough for me, I was disturbed that my best friend did not remember my birthday even after talking to him. The fact that his sister shares the same birth date with me, made me even more disturbed. So after the phone call, I text to remind him to wish his sister a happy birthday and turned my cell into a silent mode.

As I had guessed, he called and called again and finally sent me a colourful text birthday wishes. To my surprised, at practically the same time text messages came in from our common friends. A thank you template was sent to all.

Well the thing is there are only a handful of people I expect to get wishes from. Important people in my life. Having to know the effort made by anyone of them when it comes to a special someone in their lives makes you know where you stand. The reality hurts and it's no body's fault but your own. Never witnessing my mother remembering any one's birthday made it OK not to receive any wishes from her.

Anyway, it was a day to remember and I presume it should be the week to remember as I have not stopped celebrating. I will stop when I feel like it.

So, thank you all for the kind wishes and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all, may your wishes come true and you find great happiness in your life. Amin.

Faiz was serious about his speech.

u r recommended to read from cerita satu, this is CERITA LIMA....

Din pulang dari Zohor. Sambil membuka kopiah, dia bercerita. Dia tertidur(seperti biasa) semasa menunggu Zohor.

Friday, May 04, 2007

cerita tiga

Dia jerit-jerit lagi. Makin hampir, makin jelas jeritannya itu. Eh! apa yang dia kata? Apa? Dia berbahasa Melayu ke? Pandangan aku tepat pada Siti Rahmah si security tu. Dia menjerit lagi, dia jerit "INI RAUDAH!

Aku tersenyum, sinis...... Cik Timah nak ketawa..... Teruskan sembahyang, saf dah penuh dah ni....

cerita satu

Terbang melayang duit seribu ringgit. Tak nak salahkan sesiapa tapi diri sendiri. Cuaca terik dan kering. Penangan ais krim Movenpick mengeruhkan lagi keadaan. Yang peliknya, tidak terasa sakit di sana. Sebaik melangkah keluar tanah suci, batuk tak berhenti di susuli dengan selsema. Di sangkakan tidur di rumah bak istana, melenakan. Huh! Siapa sangka hotel teruk itu lah 4 malam aku tidur seperti bayi. Di "istana" aku sering terjaga. Tidur yang paling tak lena selama perjalanan aku.
Setelah Maghrib, hidung ku berdarah. Terkejut di buatnya. Si pandai ni tak lah sepandai mana... di sangkakan darah kotor keluar melalui hidung....... bodoh...bodoh....
Setiba di tanah air, aku masih tak sihat lagi. Cuti sakit di ambil. Memang keadaan tak mengizinkan. Hilang sudah seribu ringgit. Nak sedapkan hati, rezeki di mana mana. Kesihatan perlu di jaga. Tapi, itu memang betullah.....
Nasib badan, terpaksa akur. Nak buat macam mana, tu lah banyak dosa....

Cradle Snatcher

Watching Ogy's long prayers after Dafi teased her during his performance last Saturday reminded me of my own, when I stumbled upon a darn good looking young man recently. Or shall I say a teenage boy who was sent by JPA to further his studies.

Our first meeting was right in front of the toilet and I said to him, " Dik, can you take your ablution else where? " He then said that all the toilets were full and that he will make sure that the toilet he was about to use will remain dry when he leaves. While he was performing his prayers I took a quick peep at the toilet, and true to what he said it was dry. Since we were about to finish work and was keeping everything in place, I have decided to let him know. So, while folding one of the prayer mats, I stood behind him.

When he was done, I quickly called for his attention "Dik...." but before I could finish my sentence he turned and that was when I saw his sweet wide smile revealing his finely ordered teeth, beautiful eyes with medium range lashes that almost curl, his fair baby-like skin and a powerful soothing voice to match.... I was almost speechless. I gathered my then very weak strength and told him that the prayer room will be closed the minute he leaves. He smiled and said "okay". With a smile that immediately put anyone on cloud nine, I attempted another question and asked him where will his Uni be? He smiled and answered. By then I was desperate to see more of the smiles that hardly cross my path. What are you majoring in? I asked probably looking like a fool. He SMILED and answered. At this point I was already melting and just refused to end the conversation or the Q & A rather and asked him. "So, which school did you go to?" He smiled and said "STJ" and I thought, eh? wait a minute, STJ??? Why was it so darn familiar????? As if he could read my mind he said "It's in Kuala Pilah".. My expressions changed and said " oh... that was my husband's school" (kuang kuang kuang)

The minute I uttered the word Husband, I finally came to my senses. Just what was I thinking???? A boy? who have not seen the world?????? I must be kidding myself. Long prayers were said and before I knew it I saw him again to bid farewell. He thank me profusely and I wished instead of saying Your welcome, I truly wanted to say " don't go breaking any one's heart, you hear!!!!!"

And that was the end of my short lived excitement. A very stupid one too......

money vs love pt 2

In my previous blog , I had written about how money can beat LOVE. The truth is that that was what I felt only at that particular moment when I was writing.

I always believe that money alone won't make you happy. Money and Love however, do.
Of late the topic about money arises wherever and everywhere I turn. It always make me sick to the stomach when money overrides LOVE.

A long good friendship turns sour. Parents acting cold. Relationships go into the tumble dryer, got folded when they are out. All because of money. The sad thing is that it all began with LOVE.
Love your friends. Parents love you. You fell in love and have a relationship. If love is the priority than money should come second, never first.

The thing is they knew that it all began with love but somehow was blinded by the root of all evil. Now.....my question is should I come out straight and give them a piece of my mind or should I stay quiet and witness them destroy themselves?
